All aboard the relegation special. Hoping for a better season than my last one here, but I've not got a good start. Starting QB injured for first time ever (I've had him for 237 weeks), and this happens on the first update after I sold my backup for 7.3 million to save my team financially. It's the first time I've not had a decent backup since my second season (this is now my 20th season) so I'll start with a heavy loss and see what happens from here.Last edited on 2018-08-06 at 12:50

Maybe you were selling yourself a little short?

Some massive games today.

All Finland derby with the new arrivals getting a good start over the Elisa Vikings.

Clash of two champs here, with Ray's running orders getting a jump on Dimple's Seattle.

My game against Fionia Swans looks pretty close.

Joburg Rams getting off to a flyer against the reigning champions.

Second-placed Pilgrims vs dark horses Brixton Massive has Pilgrims taking first blood.

Top Div is absolutely lush this year.

All Finland derby is at 28-31 with Elisa Vikings making a good comeback against Koupio City Giants

Clash of two champs not sure how Letchworth are doing it, but they are 27-7 up. Dimple's lads have started the season 40 minutes late, and need three unanswered TDs. Edit four now.

Weasels just got an int followed by a TD against Fionia Swans to put us 35-21 up.

Joburg Rams still getting off to a flyer, although UL Vikings are hanging on by a thread, 56-42.

Pilgrims putting down a big marker on Brixton Massive 56-28

All Finland derby Koupio getting back ahead of Elisa Vikings. 49-31

Clash of two champs can the impossible happen? Seattle have woken up with 15 minutes left, but Ray's team are having all the luck, and have got another Int to make it 14-41.

Weasels vs Fionia Swans looks like there's breathing space for Weasels. 28-42

Joburg Rams have put this to bed against the reigning champions. Great start for GaryH. 70-52

Pilgrims vs Brixton Massive looks like a no-drama start for Plymouth. 63-35

Huh, what a relief, to stay here is one step closer.
My 1st TD win, hope there will many more to come.

Not really sure how it happened but managed a win with the running game. Was originally going to play a complete backup team but then went with the main team to just try and keep the score down - it looks like it worked.
Thought I was going to get battered and pleased to be wrong. I've been wrong before (in 1971 I think it was) but happy to be this time.

Pilgrims are a top team but not exactly a promising start...

Team’s getting old. Going to give it till mid season but think it might be relegation and rebuild time

Interesting start to the season!

Very impressed by Ray's win, I wonder when was the last time a team won against a human team by running the ball in the TD.

Good sign for the new engine and I think that'll be food for thought for a few teams.

Pleased to win today and definitely surprised by the score line.

Looking forward to playing the reigning champs next week, need to get some revenge against the Vikings

Not happy with my start to the season Rams deserved their win today but I think I might have made too many changes over the break. Next game might answer my question.

Just looking over those last games. Five teams had 16 or more of their 22 on-field players achieve five star ratings. Now this stat doesn't guarantee an individual win, and it doesn't account for the cutting edge 20 skill quarterbacks and receivers, but it is very indicative of strength and depth. Usually a top-div winning team will have 12-15 regulars putting in 5* performances, so this is looking very competitive. Some stats below:

Fionia 20 !
Kuopio 18
Seattle 17
Joburg 16
Plymouth 16

This promises to be the toughest Top Div for many years.

Edit: just realised most of these stats will have been distorted by the new home field advantage. Let's see how these average out next week.
