Defense is pulling some serious overtime here but Staten needs to kick into gear if I am to hold on.

Edit: at least a few completions to drain the clock a bit.

Well he listened.

About as happy as I can be, having lost. Taking such a strong opponent into OT with a backup QB must hopefully be a promising portent for the season ahead, once David is back under centre.

First stats of the season. I thought about it and decided to make Bigfoot count as a bot. The relax rule plays havoc with stats and will come into affect every time they play with that team.

Obviously with one game in all stats are pretty screwy for the moment so take with a lot of salt for the moment. The first thing I noticed is that I thought III. 5 was defensive but some games looked really hard to make forward progress in. Defensive lines seem to have gotten a lot meaner without the offensive lines matching up especially.

For the games Pandas and Nightmare was the most interesting with a contrast in styles. Fred Koops made short work of the Nightmare offensive line repeatedly but Nightmare made their tackles stopping Pandas from big TDs while they got quite a few themselves.

For my own match I was obviously delighted with that incredible defensive performance. Great tackle rate, they had a low completion rate, I got ok pressure on the QB. Offensively I struggled for most of the match and had a good 4th quarter. Staten did not settle in perfectly but not a terrible performance at 54% completion rate with time in the pocket. However Moss and Dreier did well with any chances they got.

Everything went right for the Rams defensively. They took shreds out of the Knights offensive line which has to improve to give them a chance at making passes. Even with time the Knights QB was poor and the receivers got few chances to do anything with good tackling from the Rams. In return the Knights gave a solid defensive performance against a top team but without the offense to back them up there was only going to be one winner. Certainly the Knights only conceeding on 36% of the Rams drives was good.

RCT and Packers was decided by the RCT offense. Not terrible offensive line play (given the rest of the league) and a good completion rate ensured they got the ball to their receiver's hands more than any other team. Packers put in a good performance offensively themselves. A low rate of breaking tackles will annoy them and was the biggest difference between the sides.

Delighted to get that win against a very good side. With a tough opening, that was badly needed.

Good wins for the Rams & Pros. Wasn't expecting such one sided games, but very impressive. But honestly can't understand what happened to the Knights offense.

Great effort by the Panda's with a backup QB.

Also great work on the stats Christy

Anyone seen the Knights Offence, please contact the club asap

last seen last season, they seem to have been kidnapped by the Rams defence

the club knows they're not the best, but we're attached to the useless lumps
so would appreciate the return

btw, no reward offered, we're not stupid

I am glad I have a bit of a balance as running even this season will be a challenge. I have too many reserves just on the cusp of being ready to take over this season so next should be better.

Overall though I have a decent shot to make money. With Bigfoot in round 5 I should be 3-2 or 4-1 by that point. I figure I should be looking to beat at least one of the Cowboys and the Knights to make it happen. Hopefully I get an easy cup run for a few rounds.

Away this weekend so stats will be delayed.

I have a good shot against the Cowboys this weekend. Pandas vs Knights should also be a good match. Packers and Nightmare are favourites in their games. Rams to rack up points difference.

Week 2

Packers by 14, too strong
Panda's by 10, I have no offence, or form, but Panda's QB out? tight, but Panda's
Nightmare by 3, but could be RCT by 3...who knows
Rams by 90 - bot bash?
Pro's by 7, may be more, unpredictable Cowboys?
