The actual original Lyric was Hey Jules. For Julian Lennon, who was 5 when John Divorced Cynthia, His first wife. Paul felt really bad because Julian was having such a hard time getting over it and John really wasn't the model parent to him after finding Yoko. Paul being the caring soul penned this song to help him "make it better"


...I just assumed Jude was a girls name.

Croverja,

It was the late 60's People didn't know that drugs were so bad. It makes a lot more sense on Acid I'm told.
