And the nice thing with stats is the ability to make utter nonsense of them and make projections based on them.

Projections for week 5:

Week 5
Establiments Verros vs. Terrassa Red Sharks 34-56
Vikings Nantes vs. Strike Team 70-0
NOMADS vs. Chums of Anarchy 28-26
Olivos Borrachos vs. Spain Bulls 33-35
emperatus vs. Drusselstein Lawn Gnomes 17-43

Stats are up!

Points of interest:

- Chums are doing quite well. Their 4 opponents have won 44% of their games, and Chums have a 3-1 record against them. Establiments Verros on the other hand have lost to weaker teams.

- WR's are ruling the Offensive MVP. Darkwinging will bring you that glory!

- Three teams dominate the defensive MVP. Happy my team is among them!

- Despite leading the division, Gnomes receivers are not catching their balls. Nantes have a 32.89% catch rate. Gnomes are 6th with 18.82%!

- Over every fifth pass thrown at Estabiments Verros's defense ends in a TD!

More to see in the stats.

Please provide feedback and / or errors.

Looking at the stats it seems like your receivers are making their catches (as you have the highest completion rate) but aren't being efficient with them (the td/catch ratio you mention above).

Looks like I need to train agility and perhaps carrying / footwork? Would be nice to see if there is any change although the change in agility would be minor over one season.

Scratch that... both have 19 agility, so it should be carrying that could make a difference. It would be nice if Nantes / Chums would pitch in with info on their receivers carrying?

I was always curious as to how much strength mattered. Only looked into it a small bit but I know this is something your receivers struggled with last season as well

You have to know that I train each skills with any importance to the same level of all my players. In order to get the best training/salary ratio.

This means that, by looking Celian Bory salary for example, you can know what is his best level, and deduce that carrying is at this level. Which is 18 here.

Gerome Baudoin is an exception, as he's late in some developpment like carrying (missed his training some months ago). His best level is 15, but he's only 10 in carrying.

I also don't put any WR or TE without at least 15 in strength (Bory is 16, Baudoin is 19)

Interesting. Vollmann has 19 str and Fusle has 17. Both have low carrying, so I think we have found the culprit...

Both mine have good strength (18 & 19) but Ruffini only has 3 carrying...? I'm not sure it factors in but could be wrong

Very scientific indeed

They are based on the very simple equation:

(Opponents drive success) x (Average number of drives given per game) x 7

So when opponents playing the Gnomes have a drive success of 22% and Gnomes give up 11 drives per game, then the math says that Gnomes will on average give up 0,22 x 11 x 7 = 17 points. By applying this logic to all matches, I can predict the outcome, but it is solely based on 2 metrics. I could include the teams own drive success, but I made this hastily yesterday.

The good thing is that the predictions are based on the actual data, so they will change according to team form and so on.

Up next is predictions on attendance and economy... just because I am an auditor and Excel freak!
