the stamina at 20 for players turning 31 is very reasonable if he wants to keep those players into the season they turn 31. personally i like to take the thing reaus said waaaay back saying that he would never force a coach to change the way he trains his players because the nt is not the owner of the players, the nt is not paying the wages of the players, the nt coach does not control how that player is trained. only thing the nt coach is in control of is what players are on the nt. do you think i would like some players on teh czech teams training change? you bet your ass i want to be able to change their training but i cant. their are players with 15 base skils that could possibly start in a season or two for the czechs but are at 19 in kicking and are being trained up to 20 in kicking but have absolutely no kicking bpos making the players almost useless but they remain on the nt regardless because the crop of players isnt too large for the czechs.

1/ You are absolutely right - the NT coach has no business trying to tell other coaches what to do with their players. But he'd be an idiot to not make it clear to them that training them in a certain way is stupid. It would also be ridiculous for an NT to not explain what his criteria is for selecting players.

2/ Training a player to stam 20 when he is 30 going on 31 is idiotic. He is 30 so gets stuff all training points (25%). So he'd be lucky to avoid dropping for an extra week anyway. And, you also run the risk of a stam 20 game in the mean time - idiotic.

If a coach has been even so much as hinted at about the stam 20 issue, and trains a player to stam 20 then he's a fool. He's created the potential for disaster so that a player can be 20 instead of 19 in stam - virtually no difference in any case. Completely stupid.

personally i think of nt as borrowing players. managing them is not my responsibility only when a player does not have a team do i try to take matters into my own hands and either take the player onto my team or try to help him find a team.

Again, I agree.

But the hilarious thing here is that this bloke shows great interest and concern for the NT and then turns around and does this. Just bizarre!

He is the first to throw criticism at others - no rest for the wicked!

I have explained myself previously. I cannot do anything about your unwillingness to accept the explanation. You need to find a way to move on.

The only thing you have mentioned is wanting to prevent players dropping physicals for an extra week, which is crap anyway.

You sold McDougall - why train him to stam 20?

Why show so much interest in the Aus NT when you clearly don't give a stuff? But it's more than you not giving a stuff though isn't it - you're screwing over the entire Aus NT to spite me, aren't you?

the specific team that undertrained players who had bpos in positions of need and midrange skills for that position and then trained kicking to 20 for no reason never seemed to show interest in the nt so i cant exactly speak out of experience on this one

That's because none of his players were trained to stam 20 at that time. And then he trained a bunch of them to stam 20 after the WC qualifiers. And he did the same last cycle as well.

I don't wanna drag this meaningless saga out more, but just for those reading.

It was 1 player, not a bunch of them. And "the last cycle player" mentioned I kept for 19 weeks after he hit stamina 20. This "last cycle player" even competed in the IronBowl 4 weeks ago and didn't disgrace himself at all.

We are talking 1 player per cycle. One of 50 in the whole roster. 2 players in total over 2 cycles.

I don't usually carry stamina 20 players just in case, BUT, this past season, I won the RC with 2 stamina 20 players, so who really cares. You all whine too much. PR is a great coach and I really don't get this entire line of discussion

Looks like it cost you in last season's first game vs 'breds.

You lucked out in the RC.

daudy lost in the RC due to his CB, yet he beat the Grizzlys even with that same CB having a stam 20 day because the Grizzlys passed to the other side all day.

I fully encourage all managers to train their non Aus players to stam 20 - be my guest!

Did we lose to the French because McDougall had a stam 20 game or not?

And while we're reminiscing.

So in saying that, if you do get another run, then all these players as a local coach I can guarrantee for you 100% (as per your awesome request) will be stamina 20:-

Kai Carlile
Bailey Burgoyne
Aisake Holland
Edward Shirley
Jared Grose
Mathew Mourish
William Reid
Justin Bird
Callum Kiel

And if you do choose to place any of them (or other Wildcats players) in the NT squad, then they will be over trained and have energy issues as well making them useless to put on the roster. So don't waste your time (which you have stated you don't wanna do) and don't put them on the NT squad.

Good luck with WC15 and the 2nd teamers you will be playing on the field. You'll need it.

Accused scapegoat.
