Sounds interesting, but on further examination of the pledge packages on kickstarter one stands out to me:

Pledge $110 or more

DYNASTY PACKAGE: Enjoy pre-launch Bleacherzone access, plus Beta Test and receive our exclusive Dynasty Package which awards your account a bonus that allows you to provide extra player training, enhanced scouting, and more advanced options to defeat your opponents! This package loads your account with 250 extra points to be used as you see fit, to gain an edge on the competition.

I'm a fan of supporter accounts in free games (as you can probably guess ) but I do think it would be unfair if these gave you an in game advantage over other players as opposed to just extra features.

Obviously at the moment this is just something offered with the pledge, but in my view I could see this feature potentially being incorporated into the game, which would be very unfair on players who don't pay for the game.

Just my 2 cents

Not a good sign, should keep it to features, not direct in game advantages

So I reached out them....

It's just features (not actual "on the field" competitive advantages). It's similar to the G-I supporter account but a la carte instead of "all or nothing". If you want to see training stuff you can pay for the extra, if you want to see scouting reports you can pay for the extra. Pay only for what you want, instead of G-I where you get everything or nothing. According to them, this is why they are using a "coin system" instead of a "bulk pay" system. It allows the players to spend less money on extras and get exactly what they want. This allows the user to buy some coins and use 1 or 2 on the things they actually want as they play the game. It probably could be worded better but believe it or not, most people haven't played G-I so they worded as best they could (I asked). Obviously, G-I players come at things with a different perspective. Which is why I think G-I players should reach out to them.

You can e-mail them if you have any questions (contact@bleacherzone.com) or ask them on Facebook. They are going to open a Q&A an on their Kickstarter also. They are pretty adamant that this game is free to play for everyone unless you want certain "in-game extras".Last edited on 2015-08-13 at 18:28

Thanks for the clarification and good work on asking the question

I was considering pledging initially but haven't decided now, might just wait until it comes out and see what it's like.

Just to follow-up...

Some of their extras are pretty cool. You can see in-depth stats, play calling history, run/pass %, full scouting reports on players, etc. Much more in-depth than G-I stats. Bleacherzone has actual PLAYS (I-formation, shotgun, etc). It's much closer to the "real thing" (as much as an online sim game can be ). I'm getting drawn in more and more.

Sounds intriguing but Red Zone had those sorts of feature and I gave up on that as not being as enjoyable as GI. It would be nice to have more things available in GI but they need to benefit the way the game plays rather than just be a heap of extras.

I'll blatantly take a look once it comes out, as I'm always on the look out for more management games, but not paying anything to support a game I know nothing about. If I enjoy it and deem it worth supporting then I will do so, but will want to test it out first

Just an update on this front... Their kickstarter is only 2 days old and its already over 10% funded. Looks like they are gaining momentum. Someone bought one of their Vegas packages. Maybe we should get a group of G-I players together and go to Vegas.

Who's with me?
